Kids Aerial Classes

More Than Just an After School Activity
Watch your child build confidence, strength and friendships in a fun, supportive environment where every child is encouraged to progress at their own pace. Lyra (also known as aerial hoop) combines elements of dance, gymnastics and aerial arts. Children learn beautiful shapes, spins and beginner aerial skills while developing strength, coordination and confidence. Every class is taught safely and progressively by experienced instructors and is suitable for boys and girls aged 5 – 10.

Not at all! Our Kids Aerial Classes are designed for complete beginners. Every skill is taught step by step, with plenty of support and encouragement along the way.

Strength, flexibility and confidence are things we build during class. Children start at all different levels and progress at their own pace.

Lyra (also known as aerial hoop) is a circular steel hoop suspended from the ceiling. Children learn fun shapes, poses and beginner aerial skills while building strength, flexibility, coordination and confidence.

Many parents describe it as a combination of dance, gymnastics and aerial arts.

Yes. Safety is our number one priority.

Classes are taught by experienced instructors and all skills are introduced progressively based on each child's age, ability and confidence level. Crash mats are used and children are always supervised throughout the class.

Absolutely.

Many children arrive feeling nervous or unsure, especially when trying a new activity. Our instructors create a welcoming environment where every child is encouraged to participate at their own pace.

We pride ourselves on fostering a supportive and inclusive culture where children feel comfortable, accepted and celebrated.

There are definitely similarities.

Aerial classes help develop strength, flexibility, coordination, balance and body awareness, much like gymnastics. However, many families enjoy the more relaxed, supportive and non competitive atmosphere that aerial classes offer.

Comfortable activewear that allows them to move freely.

Long pants like Leggings or tights are best for Lyra with a a t-shirt, leotard or singlet work well. Jewellery should be removed before class and long hair should be tied back.

Our current Kids Aerial Classes are designed for children aged 5 to 10 years.

If your child falls just outside this age range, feel free to contact us and we can discuss the most suitable class option.

Parents are welcome to stay and watch if they wish, particularly during the first few weeks while children are settling in.

Many parents enjoy seeing their child's progress and celebrating their achievements along the way while others like to get their groceries done at Aldi across the road!

We understand that life happens! If your child is unable to attend, please contact us and we'll advise how to organise a make up class.

No. This class focuses on aerial hoop (Lyra) and age appropriate aerial fitness skills designed specifically for children.

Our kids' program is centred around movement, strength, coordination, confidence and fun in a safe and supportive environment.

No.

Our focus is on learning, movement, confidence and having fun. Children are encouraged to support one another and celebrate personal progress rather than compete against each other.

This studio is amazing! Can’t recommend it enough! Having no dance/pole experience, I was nervous to come along for the first time, but Lyndal and the whole team make you feel so welcome and comfortable from the very moment you walk in. The teachers are inspirational, talented, friendly and patient. I have been there years now and have done some terms of pole and floorwork (dance)! So so fun and such a great workout too! Win-win!!

I could not recommend Pole Plus enough. The team are the most inviting and encouraging bunch of ladies you could ever meet. I have gained so much strength and confidence in the time I have been doing pole classes. It is so much fun; it doesn't even feel like you're exercising! If you have ever wanted to try pole dancing and are unsure about it, give Pole Plus a go!!

I started my pole journey feeling unsure and extremely nervous but I've been going to Pole Plus for years now and I wouldn't go anywhere else. I am always supported and encouraged by not only the lovely instructors but also the beautiful students. I highly recommend this studio to anyone looking to start their pole journey or looking to join a studio that makes them feel valued. 💕

Lyndall is more than what you could ask for in a business owner and instructor. I have been to a couple pole studios now and have never felt more welcomed by a company in my life, all the instructors are there to answer any questions you have, and teach and adapt moves to your body to make it easier for you to learn. If you have been on the fence, this is the studio to learn at - you will go far. The amedities are great, theres even a sauna, prices are accessible and classes are flexible.

A Parent's Experience

“Yesterday my daughter started her own aerial journey at Pole Plus. She was so excited until the nerves hit. For the first 15 minutes she cried because she felt shy and overwhelmed.

The teachers were patient and encouraging. A group of girls walked over, held out their hands and said: “You can be part of our group. We can help you.” Suddenly she was smiling, hanging upside down and yelling across the room: “MUM LOOK AT ME!”

Watching her experience that acceptance and encouragement nearly made me cry. These non competitive classes are a breath of fresh air after the dance and gymnastics we’ve been involved with. No waitlists, no pressure, just FUN in a joyful environment!

Thank you Pole Plus for creating this space and for keeping it so affordable!”
